NOMAD - Nadir and Occultation for MArs Discovery

On this pages you will find guides for acquiring and analysing NOMAD calibrated spectra

Derived vs calibrated data

Calibrated data refers to spectra and auxiliary information (e.g. geometry) that has been convered into physical units (e.g. radiance, km, degrees etc.), whereas derived datasets are those which have already been analysed (e.g. water vapour abundance, optical depth maps, etc.)

For derived data, we recommend that you start on this page:

NOMAD Publicly Available Datasets

Here you will find a list of datasets published in journal articles.

To download and analyse calibrated data, the guide below has been written.

Using NOMAD calibrated data

On the following pages is a step-by-step guide for working with NOMAD calibrated spectra. Please click on the sections below:

1. Selecting observations

2. Finding and downloading data

3. Setting up the SO and LNO instrument forward model
